The first appeal the money has been going towards is Life On the Edge, raising money to ensure the continued survival and protection of the wildlife residing in and around the Río Anzu and Río Zúñac reserves, from threatened Spectacled Bears and Black-and-chestnut Eagles to species found nowhere else on Earth, like Simpson’s Plump Toad. The aim of the appeal is to enable Fundación EcoMinga to be able to purchase properties that will expand Río Anzu and Río Zúñac, bringing vital protection and connection to life-packed forests that would likely otherwise be sold to extractive industries.
