Emily and Caitlin
I walked along Southsea sea front, the wind blowing hard across the open expanse of stoney beach, sun shining down on the Solent. Atom #1 was with me, ready to be held by today’s interviewees. On this day, I had the pleasure of meeting with Emily Stroud and Caitlin Woombs, Engagement Officers for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
I was impressed by Emily and Caitlin’s approach to their work. Their role is to connect the community with the local Wildlife Trust projects. As you will hear from the recording, they value connecting with the individuals they work with, and building a way of working that responds to the community. Emily and Catilin’s genuine care and dedication has resulted in a strong and enthusiastic volunteering community who keep asking for more ways to help! (If you are reading this from the Hampshire locality I recommend you sign up without hesitation, link below).
The aim of the trust is that by 2030, 1 in 4 citizens in their area are not just talking about protecting their environment, but actively contributing to making a difference. Having spoken to them, I have every belief that they will achieve this.
